The share of U.S. household corporate equities and mutual fund holdings owned by Americans aged 70 and older has climbed from 18.9% in 1990 to 38.9% in Q2 2025. Over the same period, their equity and mutual fund wealth surged from $0.37 trillion to $19.9 trillion, growing at a 10.5% compound annual rate.
