This infographic is part of our Top 50 Romantic Getaways in 2026 study, built using TripAdvisor and Instagram.
We measured seven romance indicators:
romance-related hashtags (e.g., #datenight, #dinnerdate), things for couples to do, romantic hotels, romantic restaurants, attractions rated “good for couples,” honeymoon spots, and highly rated nature & parks.
The goal?
To score destinations based on how couples experience romance in real travel settings, then rank them using a Romantic Score (0–100).
• Rome ranks #1 with the highest Romantic Score (66)
• London ranks #2 and leads the world in romantic dining volume (2,173)
• Marrakech ranks #3 with 1,000 couple-friendly attractions and 5,112 couple activities
• Paris remains a top icon with 1,631 romantic restaurants and 156 honeymoon spots
• New York City leads the Americas with 23,400 romance-related hashtags and 705 couple-friendly attractions
