Since May 2023, millions of people have been using the Deutschlandticket, offering unlimited travel on local and regional transport for €49. With 13 million subscribers, it’s a success, but the price rises to €58 starting January 2025.

Despite the price increase, the ticket remains a cost-effective option: In cities like Frankfurt or Munich, commuters often save over 50% compared to traditional monthly passes. However, in rural areas, insufficient public transport infrastructure still makes usage challenging.
