π U.S. vs. China Share in Global Goods Exports (1950β2024)

China has overtaken the United States as the leading force in global goods exports. In the early 1950s, the U.S. accounted for 17% of world goods exports, while Chinaβs share was just 1%. Between 2000 and 2010, the U.S. share fell from 12.1% to 8.4%, while Chinaβs share surged from 3.9% to 10.3%. From 2010 to 2024, this trend continued, with China further widening its lead in global export markets.
