U.S. Computer, Electronic, and Electrical Manufacturing Construction Spending Declines

Following three years of rapid expansion fueled by semiconductor manufacturing investments, U.S. construction spending in the computer, electronic, and electrical manufacturing sectors peaked in May 2024. From May 2024 to March 2025, seasonally adjusted annualized spending fell by 10.2%. The year-over-year decline in Q1 2025 was 2.1%, marking the start of a sustained slowdown.
