Number of humanoid robot-related companies in the top 100 by region

Chinese tech giants are rapidly investing in humanoid-robot technology to automate factories and homes, replacing human workers. China’s AI sector, led by companies such as Hangzhou-based start-up DeepSeek, has been making rapid progress, which has fuelled growth in the local humanoid-robotics industry.

The visualisation shows the number of humanoid robot related companies in the top 100 by region. Among the world’s 100 leading humanoid companies, 35 were from mainland China – including Baidu and Horizon Robotics.

Recently Ant Group, the Alibaba-linked fintech giant, is venturing into the humanoid robot industry, joining a growing list of major Chinese tech companies exploring this emerging field (SCMP).
