Nearly Half of U.S. Teens are Online "Constantly"
What we’re showing
The results of a Pew Research survey on internet usage among American teens (ages 13-17).
Key takeaway
The % of teens who are online “almost constantly” has grown from 24% in 2014-15 to 46% in 2023. The COVID-19 pandemic has likely played a role in this dramatic increase.
Methodology
These results are based on a web survey conducted from Sept. 26 to Oct. 23, 2023, among a sample of 1,453 pairs. Each pair comprises one U.S. teen ages 13 to 17 and one parent. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3.2 percentage points.
