Everyday Robots
Over the past decade, domestic robots like robot vacuums and lawn-mowing robots have surged in popularity. These automated little helpers are able to perform household chores, freeing up valuable time for their owners to focus on more important things such as work, family or leisure activities.
With advancements in technology, domestic robots have not only become increasingly efficient and reliable, but they’ve also become a lot more affordable, with decent vacuum robots now available for just a couple hundred dollars. As more households embrace smart technologies, the demand for these robots continues to grow, promising a future where mundane chores are handled effortlessly, leaving homeowners (and renters) with more time to enjoy the finer things in life.
According to Statista Consumer Insights, vacuum and lawn-mowing robots have not broken through to the mainstream just yet, with fewer than 1 in 6 respondents in each surveyed market calling either of the two their own. Interestingly, domestic robots are particularly unpopular in South Korea and Japan – two of the countries with the highest density of industrial robots.
