Data centers' share of U.S. power demand is projected to rise from 3% today to 12% by 2030.
According to McKinsey analysis, the U.S. is expected to be the fastest-growing market for data centers, growing from 25 gigawatts (GW) of demand in 2024 to more than 80 GW of demand in 2030.
Supplying over 50 GW of new U.S. data center capacity by 2030 could require $500B in infrastructure investment.
