📈 U.S. Surges in AI-Driven Semiconductor Imports from Taiwan, Eroding China's Dominance

China and Hong Kong’s share of Taiwan’s exports of integrated circuits and data processing units fell from an average of 57% in 2017–2022 to 38% in 2024 and further declined to 34% by July 2024. Meanwhile, the U.S. share rose sharply from 4% to 23% in 2024 and reached 33% by mid-year, highlighting intensifying competition for AI-driven semiconductor imports.
