Global EV charging infrastructure continues its rapid expansion in 2024, with the number of public charging points climbing significantly year-over-year.
China is the indisputable leader, jumping from 2.73 million to 3.58 million points—an addition of 850,000 new installations.
Europe also sees strong growth, rising from 0.76 million to 1.03 million public chargers, easily surpassing the 1 million mark.
Meanwhile, the United States expands its network from 0.16 million to 0.20 million points. The Rest of the World shows robust growth, reaching 0.63 million from 0.45 million points.
These developments highlight a clear global trend where EV charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly across all regions, though growth remains uneven, with China setting the blistering pace for the rest of the world.
