European football's financial elite continue to pull away from the pack. Real Madrid became the first club to generate more than €1 billion in annual revenue, underlining the commercial power of the sport's biggest global brands.
The Spanish club reported €1.16 billion in revenue for the 2024/25 season, helped by strong matchday income following stadium upgrades, as well as robust broadcasting and commercial earnings. Barcelona and Bayern Munich followed, while Premier League clubs occupied many of the top 20 positions, highlighting the continued financial strength of English football.
The rankings also reveal a widening gap between football's wealthiest institutions and the rest of the game. While Europe's leading clubs benefit from global fan bases, lucrative sponsorship agreements and regular participation in elite competitions, many rivals remain heavily dependent on domestic revenues and player trading.
For the continent's largest clubs, success on the pitch is increasingly matched by success in the boardroom.
