This visualisation is created with RStudio using the R programming language (R Core Team, 2025) and R Markdown to wrangle data and to present tables and figures related to the standings of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season 2025–2026. Datasets on teams and games are retrieved with the R package nhlscraper (Saijo, 2026).
CurreChat (see below) was intensively used for generating and debugging R code.

CurreChat is a generative AI tool created for the students and employees of the University of Helsinki. CurreChat uses large language models developed by OpenAI, which are located in the Microsoft Azure cloud service of the University of Helsinki in the EU. The information entered into the service will not be used for further training of the language model. No identifying information of the user is transmitted to the language model.
