What if Europeans with African heritage represented their African country for national football? What would the squad look like?
Analysis was done by:
- collecting heritage data for all Europeans representing European countries that qualified for the 2026 World Cup to identify players with African and/or Caribbean heritage (1st, 2nd or 3rd generation).
- Identified the countries that would have a much stronger team if the African European chose to play for their African heritage country. "Strong" was identified using statistics from Transfermarkt (eg. games played, club team, market value)
- Constructed an imaginary team combining all African Europeans and notable African players to create a squad of 15-18 players.
