The results of a Pew survey which asked U.S. adults, “If you had to choose one sport as being “America’s sport,” even if you don’t personally follow it, which sport would it be?”

Results are in line with other sports surveys

According to research by Statista and Elevent, football is also the most popular sporting event to attend live in the U.S. The top five are as follows:

• NFL: 21%
• MLB: 21%
• College football: 16%
• NBA: 16%
• NHL: 9%
