In 2023, Gen X (born 1965–1980) took the lead in formal volunteering, while Baby Boomers (born 1946–1964) topped the list for informal neighborly help.
Other trends from AmeriCorps showed:
🔹 Women were more likely than men to formally volunteer (30.9% vs. 25.6%)
🔹 Higher education levels = higher likelihood of volunteering
🔹 Veterans volunteered informally more often than non-veterans
