Where Americans Stand on Military Aid to Ukraine

One in five U.S. adults think that the United States should increase its military aid to Ukraine, according to a recent survey by YouGov. Meanwhile, three in ten say that the U.S. should decrease its aid to the European nation. 

Opinions vary depending on party affiliation, with 74 percent of Democratic Party-leaning respondents saying that the U.S. should either maintain or increase its military aid to Ukraine, versus only 10 percent who said the country should decrease aid. This figure drops to just 35 percent stating that the U.S. should at least maintain its current level of aid to Ukraine among Republican Party-leaning respondents. Nearly half (45 percent) of Republicans said they thought the U.S. should scale down its military aid to Ukraine.

In the same survey, YouGov asked Americans which country they think will win the war. Twenty nine percent of respondents said that they thought Russia would win, while only 13 percent said victory would go to Ukraine. Nineteen percent said they think that both are equally likely to win and 39 percent said they did not know.
