Half of Americans say they back Ukraine in the conflict with Russia

The Chart
This chart features results from a recent CBS News / YouGov poll which asks Americans who they support in the Russia–Ukraine conflict.
3 Things To Know
- Perhaps the most interesting result is that 44% of Americans don't support either country in the conflict. One interpretation is that this large bloc of respondents would support less U.S. involvement in the conflict.
- This same poll (conducted before Trump and Zelenskyy's incendiary showdown in the Oval Office) found that 46% of respondents said Trumps words and actions had favoured Russia thus far.
- Public support for sending further aid to Ukraine is a partisan issue. Republican voters are less likely to want to send further aid to Ukraine.
