Feelings About Autonomous Planes

As aircraft manufacturers push for more automation and AI integration into flight controls, the concept of single-pilot operations (SPO) and even remote-controlled, autonomous aircraft are a real possibility. While fully automated, pilot-less aircraft face many challenges, SPO are being advanced by US and European government agencies and major aircraft manufacturers like Airbus. But pilot unions worldwide, aviation safety advocates and the flying public are not so comfortable with this idea, especially if there is a flight emergency.
