Where Data Tells the Story

Aliens, Bigfoot and the Chupacabra… do you believe they exist? This was the question for 1,114 American adults in a recent YouGov poll.
The data is in—and Americans are far more open to life beyond Earth than to monsters closer to home. More than one-third of respondents believe aliens “probably exist,” making extraterrestrials the clear credibility winner of the trio. Belief drops sharply for the dog-like chupacabra, which earned only 13% in the same category. Bigfoot, meanwhile, suffers the harshest judgment, leading the pack in “definitely does not exist.” These results suggest that while Americans may be skeptical of cryptids hanging around our planet, they remain receptive to the idea that we’re not alone in the universe.
Data shown is from a demographically weighted YouGov survey of 1,114 U.S. adults conducted in November 2025. Percentages may not total 100% due to rounding.
