Voronoi's Latest Update – See What's New and What's Coming
First off, a huge thank you to the Voronoi community. There are now around 45,000 of you using the app, and we’re excited to welcome even more users and creators. We’ve been working diligently behind the scenes improving the experience on the app, and a new update is now available.
Note: If you don’t have auto-update enabled, you’ll need to manually update through your app store.
Release Notes for March 2024
A new addition to your feed
You’ll see a new type of post, called “cards”, that will highlight content from around Voronoi. This type of post will evolve in all kinds of interesting ways in the future.
In-app notifications
These notifications will appear within Voronoi to let you know when other users have engaged with your comments or posts, or when we have useful information to share with the community. This also lays the groundwork for eventual comment section enhancements.
Push notifications
We’ll be able to occasionally highlight interesting posts and creators for people with push notifications enabled.
Many other enhancements and bug fixes, including:
- View counters were not accurately registering the amount of traffic on posts. This has now been fixed, meaning the numbers you see will reflect actual engagement with posts.
- We’ve improved the functionality for zooming into full-screen posts. It’s now more stable and easier to use.
- To improve transparency, edited comments now display an “edited” label.
Ongoing Development
Comment threads are on the way
The comments section is set for a major overhaul, allowing users to tag, reply, and react to each other. Our goal is to enable everyone to engage in meaningful discussions and share feedback with their favorite creators.
Enhanced search functionality
We’re working on a feature that will allow users to filter by topic in the “search” section of the app.
Voronoi on the web
We’ve heard loud and clear that people want more flexible options for viewing content on Voronoi, so we’re creating a web app that will be optimized for desktop and tablets.
Video and slideshows
We’re still building out support for these formats in the background. We’re taking a slow and steady approach to make sure the experience is top notch for users and creators alike.
More to Come
Our next update is scheduled for April, so stay tuned for more exciting enhancements!
