The Top 20 Countries by EV Market Share

Recent analysis by Bloomberg has identified the top countries by EV market share using Q2 2023 sales data. 

Bloomberg notes that the trajectory of EV adoption in the U.S. has been relatively slow for two reasons. First is that Americans require longer ranges than other populations, meaning early EV models were often not viable. 

Second is Americans’ preference for pickup trucks and SUVs, which until recently, haven’t been offered in fully electric variants. U.S. EV adoption is expected to quicken as both of these factors are resolved.
