This map visualizes how much wild-caught fish is sourced from each of the world’s oceans annually. Data was sourced from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization, current up to 2022.
Nearly 60% of all fish caught in the ocean are captured in the Pacific.
Covering more than 60 million square miles, the Pacific’s vast size and varying ecosystems support a wide variety of fish species, making it highly productive for fishing.
