The States Where Getting Promoted Results In the Biggest Pay Raise
An entry-level job is a great way to get your foot in the door at a company. But eventually, you'll want to move up in the ranks, earning a 'senior' role and the pay rise that comes with it.
However, our latest project for Career.io showed that the salary difference between entry-level and experienced-level roles is much larger in some states than others.
We used the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Modeled Wage Estimates to calculate the average increase in hourly pay between ‘entry-level’ and ‘experienced-level’ workers for 39,282 occupation listings across 389 U.S. metropolitan areas and every U.S. state.
