The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY) has fallen 10.1% year-to-date as of September 11, 2025—its steepest annual decline in three decades and the worst first-half performance in more than 50 years. The index touched a 2025 low of 97.7 on July 2 before rebounding 0.8% to 97.5 by September 11.
Relative to historical benchmarks, DXY now stands 5.7% below its 2022–2025 average, but remains 1.4% above the 2015–2020 average and 21.8% above the 2007–2014 average.
