Net domestic migration to Florida fell from 310,892 in 2022 to 22,517 in 2025 — a 92.8% drop in three years. Florida’s domestic-migration surge has sharply reversed. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 population estimates, Florida’s net domestic migration fell from 310,892 in 2022 to 183,646 in 2023 and then to 22,517 in 2025. That means Florida’s net domestic migration gain in 2025 was down 92.8% from its 2022 level. The reversal produced a notable surprise. Florida, often one of the top states for net domestic migration, ranked only 8th in 2025. Neighboring Alabama recorded a slightly higher net domestic migration gain of 23,358. This is specifically a domestic-migration story, not a total-migration story. Florida still recorded 178,674 net international migrants in 2025.
