Market Slump in Trump’s Early Days

The stock market had its worst start in modern history during President Donald Trump's first 100 days of his second term, with the S&P 500 falling by 7.1%.

At its lowest point on April 8, the S&P 500 was down by 16.9%.

While this was the worst stock market performance for any president’s first 100 days in the modern era, it was still slightly better than the start of Richard Nixon’s second term in 1973, when the S&P 500 fell 9.9% in his first 100 days.

The S&P 500 has been on a rollercoaster since Trump's inauguration, going from an all-time high to approaching a bear market in just a month and a half amid tariff announcements and rollbacks.
