Uber pulls ahead
Uber shares have rallied since mid 2022 after the company showed clear signs that it was stealing market share from rival Lyft.
For example, for the July-September period of 2022 (Q3), Uber grew its user base by 22%, while Lyft managed a lackluster 7%.
Since then, Uber has only gained momentum. Shares climbed after it was announced that Uber would be joining the S&P 500, and the company followed that up with its first-ever annual profit.
