📈 U.S. Big Banks Surge 12.6% Following 2024 Election Results
In the immediate aftermath of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, the combined market capitalization of five major U.S. banks—JPMorgan, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, and Goldman Sachs—rose by 12.6% from November 4 to November 6. An additional five banks—Charles Schwab, Citigroup, PNC Financial Services, U.S. Bancorp, Capital One, and Truist Financial—saw a collective increase of 10.4% in the same period. Together, these ten banks gained $240 billion in market capitalization. Capital One led with an 18.4% rise ($11 billion), followed by Goldman Sachs (16.5%, $27 billion), Wells Fargo (13.8%, $29 billion), Morgan Stanley (13.2%, $25 billion), and JPMorgan (12.4%, $77 billion)
