After hitting a record high of $61.4 trillion (index at 6,891) on October 28β29, 2025, the total market capitalization of the S&P 500 slipped to $61.0 trillion by the end of October and further declined to $59.9 trillion (-2.5%, or -$1.5 trillion) as of November 6. Despite the recent pullback, the index remains up 14.7% year-to-date, adding $7.7 trillion in market value since the start of 2025.
