Between December 2024 and July 2025, European equity markets led global gains, according to S&P Global. Standout performers included Poland (+52.1%), the Czech Republic (+44.5%), Greece (+39.7%), Austria (+39.5%), Hungary (+39.5%), Luxembourg (+34.8%), Spain (+34.1%), and Italy (+26.3%). Denmark was a notable outlier, falling 15.2%.
Meanwhile, Southeast Asia and the Middle East lagged. The sharpest declines came from Saudi Arabia (−11.8%), Thailand (−8.1%), Indonesia (−4.1%), and Malaysia (−3.9%). South Korea defied the regional trend, surging 42.7%.
