The eight major U.S. tech companies—Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Broadcom, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla—have fueled NASDAQ’s growth since 2021, achieving dominance by 2023. Their combined market capitalization soared 115%, from $8.7 trillion in 2020 to $18.7 trillion in 2024, while the rest of NASDAQ-U.S. rose just 15%, from $10.4 trillion to $11.9 trillion. By 2023 and 2024, the Big Techs’ market cap reached $12.5 trillion and $18.7 trillion, surpassing the rest of NASDAQ-U.S. by $10.9 trillion and $11.9 trillion, respectively.
