📈 U.S. Direct Investment in Europe (1990–2023)

As of 2023, 59% of total U.S. direct investment abroad was allocated to Europe, growing at an annual rate of 8.8% since the 1990s to reach $3.95 trillion. The largest recipients were:

·     United Kingdom: $1,058 billion (26.8% of total)

·     Netherlands: $980 billion (24.8%)

·     Luxembourg: $532 billion (13.5%)

·     Ireland: $491 billion (12.4%)

·     Switzerland: $238 billion (6.0%)

·     Germany: $193 billion (4.9%)

Among the fastest-growing destinations from the 1990s to 2023 were Luxembourg (16.0% CAGR), Ireland (14.2% CAGR), and the Netherlands (11.1% CAGR).
