How Europeans Think the Russia-Ukraine War Will End
What we’re showing
The results of a YouGov and Datapraxis survey conducted in January 2024. Respondents were asked to choose what they believe is the most likely outcome of the Russia-Ukraine war.
What Europeans Think About the War
Out of a dozen European nations surveyed, only an average of 10% of respondents believe that Ukraine will win the war. The majority opinion in most countries is that the war will end in some kind of compromise or settlement.
The survey also asked respondents what they feel Europe should do regarding the war. In Poland, Portugal, and Sweden, respondents leaned towards supporting Ukraine in its efforts to take back its territory. In Austria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, and Romania, respondents would like their governments to pressure Kyiv to accept a settlement.
