Charting U.S. Security Assistance to Ukraine
Since Russia invaded in February 2022, the US has sent more than $44 billion to Ukraine, some of which will have to be repaid after the war ends.
In February, the Senate passed a bill that would allocate billions more in funding for Ukraine, but the bill has not been brought to a vote in the House.
Earlier this week, the Department of Defense announced an additional $300 million in security assistance for Ukraine. The additional funding, classified as a presidential drawdown, was made available after the US military renegotiated the prices to replace supplies already sent to the eastern European nation.
Presidential drawdowns are orders directing the Department of Defense to immediately deliver equipment and services to foreign countries in crises.
