In September 2025, Nigerian chef Hilda Baci set a Guinness World Record by cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice; 8,780kg served across approximately 16,600 plates. But numbers like these are hard to grasp when they live only as text.
This visual breaks the moment down into ingredients, quantities, fuel, and output so we can actually see what it took. From basmati rice and tomato paste & seasoning supplied by Gino Nigeria, to the energy required to keep the pot going, to the sheer volume of food produced.
Some stories deserve to be recorded visually, not just to impress, but to help us understand the scale, effort, and impact.
This is a visual record of what it took to cook the world’s largest pot of rice.
