China Shines Brightest in Solar PV Installations

China continues to lead the world when it comes to total installed solar PV capacity, reaching 888,000 megawatts of installed capacity as of the end of 2024.

Even while making up almost half of the world's installed solar capacity, China maintains one of the highest annual growth rates of installation at 46%. China added 278,000 megawatts of solar capacity, more than any other country currently has installed.

Following China in terms of total installations are the U.S. (177,000 MW), India (97,000 MW), and Japan (92,000 MW).
