Energy remains one of the defining issues of our time – both politically and socially. While the energy transition is gaining momentum with the goal of climate neutrality, a look at the current figures shows that Germany continues to import more than twice as much energy (2,609 TWh) as it produces domestically.
But where does the energy go? The transport sector (20 percent) and private households (18 percent) consume the most, followed by industry (17 percent).
