• Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was named the top "dream" college by the highest number of students, according to The Princeton Review. Princeton University is the preferred school for parents.
• MIT is among the most difficult schools to get into and also one of the most expensive colleges in the United States.
• The Princeton Review surveyed 9,317 college applicants and parents across all 50 states about their "dream schools."
• 38% of respondents expect to spend more than $150,000 on a college degree.
• Harvard dropped from No. 1 after a period of controversy, including allegations of antisemitism on campus and the resignation of Harvard President Claudine Gay amid plagiarism accusations.
