The Consumer Price Index (CPI) measures inflation across the country — but not all cities feel it the same way.
Each area’s unique mix of supply, demand, and local factors means inflation hits differently depending on where you live.
In October, New York City had the highest inflation rate at 4.0%, followed by Chicago (3.5%) and Baltimore (3.4%).
On the flip side, Phoenix had the lowest rate at 1.6%, with Atlanta (1.9%) and Houston (2.1%) right behind.
