Europe’s richest regions

The ranking of the richest EU regions shows how strongly corporate profits and financial activities affect GDP per capita. East and Midland in Ireland and Luxembourg lead the list far ahead of other regions. The decisive factor here is not the money in residents' accounts, but economic performance, from internet giants such as Google and Meta to Amazon in Luxembourg. Other regions also score highly with clear unique selling points. In Hamburg, Europe's third-largest port generates high added value, while Upper Bavaria relies on a mix of tourism, industry and the Oktoberfest.
