IMF data shows the U.S. share of GDP among advanced economies rising from 35% in 2012 to 45% in 2024, compared to a more modest increase from 22% to 26% globally. When adjusted for exchange rate fluctuations against the U.S. dollar, the U.S. share of advanced economies' GDP remained relatively stable, while its global share slightly declined.
