📈 Taiwan's AI-Driven Exports to US Match China and Hong Kong by July 2023
The rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) devices in the United States has significantly boosted Taiwanese exports, especially in the data processing sector. During the first seven months of 2023, Taiwan’s exports of data processing units to the U.S. averaged $840 million per month. However, this figure saw a dramatic surge in 2024, with exports skyrocketing to $6.1 billion in July 2024 alone. As a result, Taiwan’s total exports to the U.S. in July 2024 surged by 70% (YoY), reaching $11.5 billion. In contrast, Taiwan’s exports to China and Hong Kong decreased by 13% YoY in July 2024, totaling $11.6 billion.
