This graphic ranks the top 12 countries by the size of their Chinese populations. This data was accessed via Statista.
Indonesia has the largest Chinese population by a significant margin, followed by Thailand & Malaysia (all three are in close proximity).
While China is not the largest source of emigrants globally, it does take first place when we focus on high net worth individuals (HNWIs).
In 2023, over 13,000 HNWIs emigrated from China, with the top destinations being the U.S., Canada, and Singapore.
