One dot, 10 million people.
In 1960 the world had about 3.0 billion people. By 2025 it has about 8.2 billion. Each dot is 10 million people. The grey dots are everyone already alive in 1960, and the coloured dots are the growth since, in the colour of their region. Sub-Saharan Africa is now 83% coloured, which means 83% of its people are new since 1960. Europe & Central Asia is only 28%.
