Where Data Tells the Story

In 2026, adults aged 60+ make up just 15% of the world's 8.1 billion people, but they account for 26% of global consumer spending, $18.7 trillion of the $71 trillion total. That's more spending power than any other age group, despite being the smallest one.
By 2036, this gap will widen further. As the global population grows to 8.8 billion and total spending nearly doubles to $115 trillion, older adults will represent 18% of the population but a full 30% of spending, with their outlay reaching $34.2 trillion, nearly $10 trillion more than any other cohort.
The takeaway: the aging consumer is the fastest-growing engine of global consumption.
