Pew Research Center has completed its first comprehensive update of the world’s religious composition in more than a decade, revealing which religious group is largest across 201 countries and territories.
This map shows the largest religious group in every country based on self-identification as of 2020, using estimates from Pew Research Center’s Religious Composition by Country dataset, published in June 2025 and updated in February 2026.
