Data is sourced from the UN’s World Urbanisation Prospects using 2025 estimates.

There are nine cities larger than NYC in the world. Of them, six are found in Asia, along with one each in Africa, North America, and South America.
Mexico City takes the crown from NYC as North America’s largest city.
