Only two countries in Europe with good air quality

According to the latest World Air Quality Report by IQAir, only Iceland and Estonia in Europe meet the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended limits for fine particulate matter (PM2.5) of a maximum of 5 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
While Iceland leads with a value of 4.0 µg/m³ and Estonia with 4.6 µg/m³, the majority of Europe still exceeds these guideline values—despite an overall decreasing pollution level. Especially countries like Italy are affected by the impacts of high traffic volume, fossil fuels, and unfavorable geographical conditions. Such factors lead to air pollution and accordingly affect air quality.
