China is the world’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide, producing more CO₂ than any other country by a wide margin.
This visualization compares China’s 2024 carbon dioxide emissions with those of the next five largest emitting countries combined, as well as all non-Asian continents combined. Despite aggregating multiple major emitters and entire regions, their total emissions still fall short of China’s output, highlighting the concentration of global CO₂ emissions in a single country.
